Most of the roads in the region are minor highways and rural roads with very few cars and less trucks. Most of the heavy traffic is confined to the Pacific Highway (Motorway) and while there are wide shoulders and a great hotmix surface, it's not exactly peaceful.
Local roads wind through sugar cane farms, dairy farms and a variety of orchard areas as well as many State Forests and National Parks with some spectacular scenery.
Many of the best cycling routes have been mapped by ourselves and local club members. We have tried to collate a selection of the courses here, but there are many more routes out there waiting to be discovered!
